古老丹麦向导犬 Old Danish Pointer

A calm, powerful, and cooperative pointing dog known for its close working style and strong bond with its owner.

True Dual Purpose: Hunting companion and calm family dog. They are generally reserved and balanced. Calm and quiet in the family, tolerant and patient with the family's children as well as sociable with strangers and other dogs. The dogs' appealing nature makes them suitable as family dogs - but preferably with active people with interest in and desire to spend a lot of time in nature. The Old Danish Pointer's intelligent nature makes them responsive to training. They are attentive, willing to learn and happy to cooperate. The fastest and most durable learning is achieved when training is carried out with considerate, friendly and motivating consequences. While remaining relatively unknown outside Scandinavia, the breed maintains steady popularity in Denmark among hunters who appreciate its calm, cooperative nature. One of the Old Danish Pointer's most valuable traits is its remarkable ability to switch between work mode and home mode. When properly exercised, these dogs are calm, quiet, and peaceful indoors. Unlike many sporting breeds that remain hyperactive indoors, the Old Danish Pointer settles easily in the home, content to relax near family members or rest quietly when not engaged in activity.
